John Boyd, Founder, CEO
John is an astute entrepreneur and visionary leader responsible for creating and growing a multitude of successful businesses across multiple industries. His business acumen lies in the areas of strategic planning, investment analysis, and forecasting upcoming trends. Having supported developers with reviving South Carolina tax credits since 2009, he founded Tax Credit Marketplace LLC and has since syndicated more than 1 billion dollars in real estate properties through TIC Properties LLC, in addition to his work with Banker Exchange LLC. A Furman University alumnus with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting, John holds a South Carolina Real Estate Broker’s license, and FINRA Series 7/63/24/27 licenses.
Steve Chacon, President
Steve Chacon brings more than 20 years of exclusive experience in Section 1031 like-kind exchanges to his role as President of Banker Exchange. A Certified Public Accountant, Certified Exchange Specialist®, and Certified Distance Education Instructor™, Steve is widely respected for his technical expertise, clarity, and strategic insight.
A former President of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA), Steve played a key role in the successful effort to preserve Section 1031 in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. He has educated nearly 10,000 real estate and financial professionals across the country and remains a leading advocate for the continued strength of the 1031 exchange industry. As President of Banker Exchange, Steve focuses on strategic growth, operational excellence, and expanding the firm’s education-first, client-centric approach.
Shonna Felkel, General Counsel
Shonna is a highly experienced leader in the legal field, with more than two decades of dedicated work in commercial real estate, commercial lending, and general corporate law. A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, she currently serves as the Portfolio General Counsel for Banker Exchange and manages all legal matters for the Company. Shonna is an active member in multiple organizations, such as the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, and Board of Law Examiners for the State of South Carolina.
Caroline Chandler, Business Development
Caroline Chandler spent 5 years as an Exchange Coordinator, guiding clients through 1031 exchanges prior to moving into her role as the Business Development Representative for Upstate South Carolina, Midlands South Carolina, and Western North Carolina. She graduated from The University of South Carolina and hails from Greenville, SC, originally. In her time away from work, Caroline can often be found watching Gamecock Sports or adventuring with family and friends to far-off places. With her diligent focus and expertise, Caroline's unique blend of experience, industry knowledge, and client-focused approach makes her an invaluable asset to Banker Exchange and a trusted advisor to her clients.
Alana Claxton, Marketing Director
With a bachelor's and master's degree in communication, Alana brings a wealth of marketing experience and acumen to her role as Marketing Director. Throughout her career, Alana has excelled in digital marketing, project management, and content management, consistently achieving results in enhancing online presence and engagement. Known for her out-of-the box thinking, data-driven approach, and dedication to staying at the forefront of industry trends, Alana is committed to advancing Banker Exchange's mission and elevating the company's marketing efforts.
Krista DeBrine, Business Development
A proud alumna of the University of North Florida, Krista DeBrine specializes in business development in South Carolina's Lowcountry. With over a decade of experience in sales, real estate, and logistics, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her ability to multitask and pivot effectively fosters strong client relationships and a portfolio of satisfied clients.
Andrea Farrow, Vice President of Finance & Accounting
Andrea Farrow brings more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, financial services, and human resources to her role as Vice President of Finance & Accounting. Andrea earned her Master of Business Administration-Finance from Winthrop University and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Erskine College. Before joining Banker Exchange, she worked for a regional accounting firm in the New Markets Tax Credit arena. Andrea oversees the finance and accounting departments which support Banker Exchange and all its affiliated companies. She is responsible for budgeting/forecasting, compliance, and complex reporting.
Donna Garris, Intake Coordinator
Donna Garris is an Intake Coordinator with over 30 years of experience in senior administrative and customer service. Her unwavering commitment to integrity and her sunny disposition are always inspirational to coworkers and customers alike. Prior to relocating to the Upstate area, Donna was a longtime resident of Northern Virginia and attended Northern Virginia Community College.
Jamie Kingdom, CES®, Exchange Coordinator
Jamie Kingdom is an experienced Certified Exchange Specialist with over three decades of customer relations and financial services knowledge. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Greenville Technical College and is a CES® Designee committed to demonstrating her excellence when it comes to IRC § 1031 exchanges. Jamie was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA) where she contributes to the development of policies and the direction of the FEA.
Carrington Porter, Administrative Assistant
Carrington is a dedicated and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant with a strong background in medical management, equipping her with the necessary skills to handle complex tasks efficiently and professionally. Born and raised in Greenville, SC, Carrington brings a deep understanding of the local community and a commitment to excellence in administrative support. A proud native of Greenville, SC, Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from George Dean College of Business and Economics.
